The new port of island lies to Diakofti. The port, the airport and the new road which connects them to the central road axis are works of the last years. The port, protected by the winds, is one of the safest ports in country.
 The construction of the port started in 1982 by the movement of the deputy Grigoris L. Kasimatis and the unanimous decision in Popular Assembly in Kythera (Chora).
The Other ports of island are Agia Pelagia and Kapsali. The Kapsali port is henceforth not used. It functions however as Marina for the ships service of. Small ports exist also in Platia Ammos and in Avlemonas.
